The Nashville Philharmonic Orchestra opens its 26/27 season with American Orchestral Salute, showcasing the breadth and vitality of American orchestral music across generations and styles. As the nation marks its 250th anniversary, the program brings together Bernstein’s exuberant Overture to Candide; Barber’s lyrical Piano Concerto featuring acclaimed Nashville-based pianist Alessandra Volpi; contemporary American composer Jessie Montgomery’s Strum; and Copland’s monumental Symphony No. 3, incorporating his iconic Fanfare for the Common Man.
