Reid Clagett started playing the trombone in 3rd grade when a visiting cousin gifted him an old trombone. After growing up on a farm in north central Iowa Reid attended Iowa State University and earned a BM in music performance. During his years in high school and college Reid traveled to Europe three times to perform, eventually traveling to seven countries. He also has had other opportunities to play in groups such as the Central Iowa Symphony and the 2012 Southeast Trombone Symposium playing bass and contrabass trombone. Reid has competed in several professional auditions and school competitions, being one of the winners of the 2012 Iowa State University Symphony Orchestra Concerto Competition and a semi-finalist of the 2013 Des Moines Symphony bass trombone audition.
Reid is also the bass player of the rock band The Euclids and moved to Nashville in July, 2014 to attain greater musical opportunities.
