Susan Holt is the founder and President of Vision Philanthropy Group, a full service fundraising and development communications consulting firm specializing in health care philanthropy. Susan is a seasoned fundraising and development communications specialist with 30 years of experience in leadership positions and as a consultant to leading academic and community health systems, teaching hospitals, research institutions and global health organizations.
Prior to founding VPG, Susan held senior development positions at some of the nation’s premiere institutions, including Vanderbilt University Medical Center (Nashville), Case Western Reserve School of Medicine (Cleveland), Weill Cornell Medical College of Cornell University (NYC) and National Jewish Health (Denver).
Susan’s love of music began as a child. She studied piano with her mother, an accomplished pianist and choral musician, before studying at American University while in high school. She has an undergraduate and graduate degree in music and music education with a specialization in vocal performance. She taught and performed in Michigan and New York, before turning her professional interests towards the fundraising world. Her most fun role was singing the role of Mother in Amahl and the Night Visitors, with fellow Board member, Tibby Christenberry’s, son. Now, she sings in the Westminster Presbyterian Church choir.
Susan has served on the Boards of the Global Alliance for Arts and Health in Washington, D.C., the Nashville Philharmonic Orchestra and Vox Grata in Nashville, TN.
