CONDUCTING FELLOW ANNOUNCEMENT:

The Nashville Philharmonic Orchestra (NPO) seeks a Conducting Fellow for the 2017-2018 season. This position is the perfect resume builder for a young conductor looking for hands-on experience with the artistic and administrative operations of an orchestra. The position is currently for one season, but may include the option of renewal for a second year.
The Conducting Fellow will attend all NPO rehearsals and performances serving as a cover conductor to the Music Director, Dr. Christopher Norton. This will include studying all repertoire, being prepared to conduct, and offering feedback on balance and artistic issues. The Conducting Fellow will have the opportunity to conduct the orchestra in sectionals and select rehearsals as assigned by the Music Director. The Fellow will also assist the Music Director as directed in administrative tasks related to the craft of conducting (for example: locating music, communicating special instrument needs, etc.)
This is a volunteer position. In addition to the benefit of learning the repertoire, observing and conducting opportunities, the Conducting Fellow will be provided with the following: 4 lessons with NPO Founder and Artistic Director of Intersection, Kelly Corcoran; and observation opportunities with select professional ensembles throughout Nashville (to be determined).

1. Saint-Saëns Organ Symphony Part I, 14 measures before letter Q to 1 measure after S
2. Saint-Saëns Part II, opening until letter F
3. Tiange Wu, mm.125-end.
