Lisa Barrett grew up in Oklahoma and attended the University of Oklahoma School of Music,graduating in1987 with a degree in percussion performance. While at OU she was a member of the orchestra, wind ensemble, marching band and worked asa classical music discjockey for the university’s NPR affiliate. In 1987 she won the university’s Concerto Competition and performed as a marimba soloist with the OU Orchestra. She was named the Outstanding Senior for the College of Fine Arts.
Lisa attended graduate school at the University of Southern California studying music history and performance and then ultimately attended law school. After she obtained her law degree, Lisa worked for three years as an associate attorney with the Nashville law firm of Dobbins & Venick. Since 1998 she has worked for healthcare companies and currently she serves as Senior Employment Counsel for Universal Health Services, Inc. (UHS), one of the nation’s leading healthcare management companies. Ms. Barrett’s duties with UHS include providing advice and counsel to company officers and executives on matters involving employment/labor law and litigation. Lisa resides in Brentwood with her husband, George, and two children.
